Spirit of the Wind

"As the wind element was born
, some scary things were in my life and they brought passion into my work. As a result, I became more intense with my sculpture and Spirit of the Wind.

"I built a holding system in the back of a u-haul and drove Spirit of the Wind to Art Foundry Carpino in Houston, Texas.

Full Clay"I arrived at 8 pm and never had met Mike Carpino before.
Opening the truck, my sculpture had fallen on its face! Armature and arm were still up, and the structure was sound, but she needed serious repairs. My first run.

Wet clay, hot furnaces, air going in and out of a long hallway like a tunnel, I worked, repairing her, trying to keep wet clay from losing its life — a fine line.

"I reworked her in two days. This spill turned out to be a confidence builder and created a strong alliance with my foundry."
